The reviews sound a little real but everyone that works there is pretty much under 18 i was helped by a gentleman and he wheeled me to the ER and the doctors did take 4 hours but they found the answers i needed and were able to treat me right then and there, thanks so much for the hospitality aswell
UNORGANIZED! SLOW! the night before, i had to start fasting at 10pm for the blood draw in the morning. i showed up at 11:30am to get my blood drawn. the receptionist checked us in right away. we sat down and waited patiently. there were 2 people before us. the receptionist was busy with a few phone calls and she seemed stressed. after 5 minutes, a couple with their child came to check in. the 2 people before us were finished and the couple with their child went in BEFORE us. shortly, a mother and her son checked in as well. they also went in BEFORE us. i soon became impatient and asked the receptionist when i was going in. she told me i was done and i was confused. i told her that i have not even gotten my blood drawn yet so how could i be done? then she said that i was next in line. SHE LIED! 2 other people checked in and went before us. now i was getting irritated. i checked the time and it was already 12:45 pm. i went up to her again and asked her when i was going in. again, she told me that i was done. DONE WITH WHAT?! I HAVE NOT EVEN GONE IN YET LADY! THEY HAVE NOT DRAWN MY BLOOD! DO YOU UNDERSTAND? IF I WAS DONE, WHY ON EARTH WOULD I STILL BE SITTING HERE WAITING?DO YOU THINK THAT I AM JUST SITTING HERE WAITING FOR YOU TO FINISH YOUR JOB SO WE CAN GET COFFEE ON YOUR BREAK? HECK NO! I HAVE OTHER AND BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY LIFE THAN TO SIT HERE FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS. then she said that she was busy with phone calls. i continued to wait. another couple came to check in and the receptionist said that they were closing soon. LIES LIES LIES! SHE LIED TO THEM! on their website, it says that they are open 24 HOURS. after i was called in, i came out and it was already 1pm. if you read all of this, thank you for reading my rant :)
Sadly this hospital must have a hangover effect from the horrific hospital that was Stevens Hospital. My personal story is too long to post here, suffice it to say after 4 months of inadequate care for Stage 4 Cancer, I couldn't switch my care fast enough to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The oncologist at Swedish was wonderful, but the communication, follow through, teamwork, systems etc..., are severely lacking and in some cases, non existent. Some of the staff should find employment in a different field, as they are not fit to deal with the public. I pray whoever reads this has a better experience than I, and that many of my friends have had...
My wife came in at the ER and has been in the ICCU for almost three weeks now. She has received excellent care with compassion and friendliness. The staff always have been available to discuss her condition and progress and prognosis. She receives frequent care from both the nurses and doctors with concern for her comfort and understanding. I couldn't be happier.
I've had to have multiple stays at the Swedish campus as well as first Hill and I want to say their service is amazing! I just had my gallbladder removed and my surgeon Dr. McFarland and my current RN Mark is truly awesome! Informative and kind. Had made my stay a good one.
