It's not every day that I walk by a shop and learn something just from their window display. When I was visiting they had caution tape strewn across some books saying, "Banned Books Month". Of course, Catcher in the Rye was on display, but I was shocked when I saw "Hop on Pop" "The Outsiders" and "Harry Potter" -- especially when this was required reading (sans the first one) when I was a kid. So I asked inside and learned the startling truth behind these.
Neighborhood bookstore. Good selection of new books despite its smallish size. Features local authors, a plus. Author signings and book club meetings further the store's cozy charm. Employees are readers, not clerks, so they are able to recommend books apart from best sellers. Along with Spangler Book Exchange (a few blocks away) the local arts and letters scene is well covered.
Cute little bookstore. Full of amazing classics and lots of modern reads.
Very cute little local book store with local authers and artists.
I know brick and mortar book stores are dying, but this is the way to engage the public -- I mean it got me inside faster than a Pokemon Go lure outside of a pizza shop.
I've been coming to this bookshop since i first moved to Edmonds and it still has the wonderful charm and cozy atmosphere as the first time I walked in. The folks here always give me wonderful recommendations and its one of my favorite places to buy gifts.
